ma petite prière à la lune

there is a beginning of an extreme moon
three days hence its belly will expand
and mother earth will pull it near
cradling the birth in her arms

i write letters in the deepened sky
on paper, avid with sweat of sun,
of finger's oil

the smudge of words as if
i murmured them from a closed mouth
they are for you, about you

and you-
mon ange rouge très petit
sit somewhere there
dans l'abdomen de la lune

i will see day bring
rugged grey to the face of morning
a frown formed sometime in the dark

but you; even day cannot dismiss

votre arc de brillance blanche
capturée dans les étoiles
