The makings of an idol

When you think about an idol
And the qualities they have
I wanna tell you something
About my dear old dad

He has always been the person
That I could look up to
And whenever there was a problem
I'd say what would daddy do

He led us by example
His own moral code
That stood the test of time
Rules that never did get old

No matter what perils
Life could throw at you
I know with daddy's guidance
I would always see it through

He never was a person
Who had to ask us for respect
Because he had this certain stature
That you could not neglect

He worked hard all his life
Providing for his clan
Not once did he complain
The true markings of a man

No he's not a sports hero
He doesn't stand out in a crowd
Nor a famous actor
He,s just dad ...he makes me proud.

He doesn't ask for praise
He is humble in his ways
He is the perfect roll model
What else can i say

These are the makings of an idol
The only one I've ever had
I am proud to be his son
And I'm glad that he's my dad !
