Daily Flash Fiction Entry for 3/20/11: Wish you were here
There's a reason why the sun don't shine on you thought Lloyd, because your brilliance outshines Canis Majoris, the largest star in the Universe...and lesser light can cast no beam on the greater.

"Crazy." He voiced, waking from yet another thought diamond about Violet and her taste in the quirky sort. He'd been gazing in his mind's eye at her platinum blond mohawk, which offset her lapiz lazuli eyeshadow imported from Cairo at a discount price.

"Welcome" droned the digitally-enhanced 7-11 attendant as Lloyd lazed over to the Dew Machine, which dispensed the slushy beverage into a 55 oz coconut fiber cup. Reminiscing of the days of paper, he grabbed a broccoli bar on the way to the counter, asking Zeke behind the register if he could have a locally grown cigar. It blew Lloyd's mind to think people were primitive to the point of inhaling tobacky plumes in times past. The blend he was searching for actually remedied his asthma, thanks to TCM-standard protocol in herbal smokables issued by the Amexicanada government.

"Wish you weren't lighting up in here, lover. The smell of mullein and horse-heal together triggers my tear ducts." It was Violet, his psychotherapist.

The song continued to play on Lloyd's MP8 player Shine On You Crazy Diamond as he allowed himself to be elbow-cuffed and taken into the padded custody he'd left behind just three hours prior. His crate awaited him to be expedited to the non-planet Pluto, where all manifesters with bumps on their brain too psychoactive to explain go. He knew Violet just wanted to end the affair from her back-up of whitecoat droids in the landing lot outside.

“Looks as though my daughter will never know where her special genes came from.” He smirked to the radiant mother-to-be commanding his semi-sentimental send-off.
