Time is a Centrifuge

Oceanic waves of time crashing all over me

Eating away at my essence of resolve

Vivacious time, with all its failings is still beautiful

A cycle of old and new, a golden sunset asleep

Aging ceaselessly until, alas, oblivion takes us all

Into death's waiting embrace we trudge

Happy, in some cases to see and end, a way out

Greeting him as an old friend long since forgotten

The eternal footman, made of nothing but bone

Yet somehow untouched by the elements

Greets you just the same, a companion

A sharer in his affliction, and his philosophy

Leading us into the beyond, to slumber everlasting
