Part 1 Chapter 1 |
Innocence A calm evening, no one around, very quiet. That was the perfect environment for a quiet read. Books were amazing, like a mind adventure written in words. You could travel to the far end of the galaxy to the past. Each one with their own destination and meaning. Currently, a young fox, about the age of six was reading from a thick chapter book. He found them interesting and entertaining. It was “City of Bones” the first in a so far amazing series. The demon fighting and love seens made him happy. He sat back, against a tree and upside down. He flipped a page then gasped when he found it falling from his hand. But no, a large boy had pulled it from his hand and opened it to a random page. He read from it, paused and glared at the boy. “Cheetwo, what the hell are you reading?” he laughed and threw the book into the mud. Cheetwo tensed and quickly pulled the book out so it didn’t get too damaged. He flipped the pages, checking each one like it would be the end of the world if ruined. He then glared at the other “Dang it Sammie! Why would you do that?” he frowned and a bushy tail escaped from his shorts. It was a dark brown, with a golden dash through it. Sammie was tall, skinny figure and short blonde hair, about the age of 14. His eyes were a glowing blue and his face was shaped very smoothly. He wore a black tee-shirt with ‘Hollywood Undead’ written in large blue graffiti like writing. His pants were original ripped Levi jeans, baggy yet held with a belt. Cheetwo was only six, small and weary. His tail waved from his pants irritably, that dark dirt brown the color of his hair which covered one eye. His eyes were also a bright green like a lime that gazed into you like a dagger, not intentional but pretty intimidating. The black sweatshirt he wore had a hood and strings, half chewed off in habits. He also had black sweatlike pants that hung from his waist gently. The fox twitched, putting the book on a tree stump before rushing a Sammie, who just put his hand up and stopped him easily. Cheetwo bit at him, canine teeth lengthened, but not to cause any damage to him. Which made Sammie laugh and push him down to the ground, “Calm down fox boy.” He teased. That caused the boys dagger eyes to pierce into him. Sammie quivered slightly and looked away “Get your book, and go home.” He snarled then ran off. Midway his body changed, shifting into a sandy colored fox with a dark brown tail tip. The paws on him were also a darker brown, bright blue eyes still present. Not obeying, Cheetwo picked up his book and curled against the stump again. His small town had a clock tower in the center; it said 4:00 pm. His mother had told him to be home by 5:00 so he had about a half an hour before he had to set off for the walk home. He zoned out on his book again, going to a stained page and reading onward. *** |
