Banana Slug


When I was in high school we live on Ridgewood Dr.
I went to a school named Branham High.
Now this a true story about a girl named Cheryl
Young girl with a sparkle in her eyes

This ain't no story about Cheryl and some guy
Not a story about the back seat of a car
This is a story of a picnic that went a bit to far
Cheryl and the neighbor girl, in  our back yard

The French have a delicacy they call escargot
That's snails to US, but what do Americans know
My sister got a blanket, plates, knife and fork
Then my sister and the neighbor girl went to work

On the sidewalk between our houses was quite a sight
A  big YELLOW, SLIMMY, BANANA SLUG, that's right
It left a slimy shinny trail and was about 6" long
I got bored today, decided to write about it in this song

Those two fearless hunters pounced upon their prey
They grabbed that slimy sucker puckered up that day
They never cooked it, they just cut that thing in two
Then They ate it raw and swallowed all it's goo

This sad story really happened, they lived to tell the tale
If I ever go to France, I'll never eat a gosh darn snail
I have got to go now for now I got to bail
my computer just said to me, "YOU GOT MAIL!"
