Lady Gerane was quiet beautiful,

she often lured men with audaciuous eyes and flickering lashes,

birds hummed along with her tunes,

bees buzzed to the melody through,

all the time she pranced about,

questioning youth and embracing old,

yet one thought could not escape,

the problem that is time,

she grew up quick Lady Gerane,

learned to lie and cheat,

not knowing that actions compelled,

would leave at the end to her feet,

perilously vulgar,

vane and vanity,

sprouted forth from golden hair,

a childs fragile body,

in a witches mind,

screaming to be let out,

Lady Gerane was not the smartest,

nor the brightest of the few bunch,

but the opportunist quite,

one advantage in sight,

the fair maden pounced at its bleak sight,

a dangerous woman in a clean palace,

chandaliers shining in the pale blue night,

ney she sat on her throne,

daring them on,

to see he would laugh the last,

she lay and lay forced a fake smile,

as the seconds they ticked by,

the same tricks out her sleeve were starting to mistake,

so she got up and gazed at the mirror,

years had passed without her knowing,

and Lady Gerane had found something new showing,

etched lines in her would be smooth forehead,

sagging bags beneath the eyes,

ugliness crept to her surprise,

as time had done Lay Gerane in,

Now she paces in her castle,

all alone with none to fool,

some say you can find her yelling in lonesome,

wishing for days old to come anew
