random It's a story sort of about nothing in particular concerning the year 1999. |
yes.. and? It was a quiet day at the library, as the air conditioner justified the gas taxing trip to get there. "Didn't think you'd make it." No shushes from the librarian could be heard. None were warranted. "Gas is killer these days". "Shhh!" Spoke too soon. The two shuffled to the shelves. "Definitely worth the trip -how long you're in for?" "'bout to leave; got work in an hour or so." Scans for the librarian turned up nothing. "Don't bother looking, book's not here" "Oh, I forgot about that.." "haven't started?" "nope. Wish I had a day job instead of commissions sometimes." "heh, well, later." Jojo waltzed over to the librarian's desk cause he was too lazy to search for the book himself. "You guys hiring?" "Good at shusshing?" And also he was bad at priorities. "Sorry -would you happen to have this book?" Having not memorized the prescribed book, he passed on his given list in a cover to look professional. "Isbn and everything -hold on I'll go look for it." As the time passed, jojo wandered what exactly was on that list. The security guard and the librarians congregated about something serious -jojo didn't think much of it. In an hour or so, he had his book and was on his way home. Later that night, he stared at what he thought would be a book on computer code and found it riddled with notes and corrections. He wasn't going to use it anyways, so he tossed it aside and got started. As he brainstormed on how to design a client's store's website with recycled code from a previous project, he heard someone at the door. "The uh.. librarian said you had it." "What, aids? -you gotta be more specific, man!" Then attempted to slam the door. "You have it?" "Ya. totally useless with all those scribbles. Reserve it. I'll be returning it as soon as I go that direction." "K, thanks. And uh.. sorry." "Sure. Later." It would be two years before he ever makes it to that library. The next day was quite a downpour. News agencies had their field day acting like it was hurricane season with their "Look at how strong the wind is! I can practically fly off into oblivion if it wasn't for this lamp post I'm holding on to" -and of course the camera man remains perfectly stable. To be continued... |
