Unknown Road

       



    Life. The road we all travel upon,

    mine being another long forgotten path.



    I have not but time and thought for company,

    all the while longing for another to walk beside me,

    and as lovers, uncovering  one another,

    two travelers hand in hand.



    Venturing forward into the unknown road ahead.





   

    All the paths lead into the darkness deeper within.

   

    At the darkest hour on the darkest night I found my true enemy,

    it was the man I never wanted to be.



    " You'll never escape the evil in your heart unless you learn from me."





    I'll never forget the ugly creatures, bizarre and terrible sounds, serpents and 

    creepy crawlies that were lurking and thriving all around me,

    I'll never forget the sounds of the beasts hungering deeper within..

   

    But then the light finally shown over that eastern horizon,

    my dawn finally came to me;

    I could see all the beauty and wonder the night had masked before.



    I had come to a vast carpet of shamrocks, Oh the lush of Green!

    the sun marched forth stealing the night away ever more and more;

    the catfish in the river, the golden apples in the trees,



    and Roses, Roses, Roses!





    No longer did I hear the terrible sounds of unknown things in the night

    but the murmuring of a brook nearby.



    The cold fresh water cleared the dust and dirt from my throat,

    a frog choir sang for me.



    Indeed the day brought many callings of comfort and colors,

    but the road is ever farther on.



    How much more of this unknown road will I have to conquer to find you?
