Chasing Angels, Chasing Demons

Running and running,
can’t get away from the
demons chasing close behind.

I am running to the angels;
chasing after them,
I can’t keep up.

Maybe angels aren’t meant to be,
should I chase demons instead?

I chase the angels,
looking for a good life.
Meanwhile the demons
are chasing me,
threatening my life.

If I lag behind the
demons will overwhelm me
and I will
disappear,
I will not let them take me.

The angels are reminding me of
happiness,
a feeling I have forgotten,
it’s something so new
and wonderful.

The horrors the demons carry
are strong and pull me away
from the angels,
consuming me.
