I carry a wind,
a prayer to my kin,
and a song in my heart
as I am torn here - apart.

I live by a line
a moment and rhyme
to sing as I may
from night onto day

and I carry it so
as I held here a life
and I sang there my strife
so all there would know;

and I lost so my way
from heartache I pray
as I near to my time
wings beaten divine

to the glint of the sword
and the promise of hoard
I've beaten my wings
to many a painful nothing...
