A fanasty poem about making a decision.
The door was ajar
and I saw from afar
all that lay before me.

Flowers and birds
Light and love
beckon me.

I could step
through that door
into a new world.

Fairy tales always have
monsters and witches,
trolls and wizards.

No happy every after
without some drama.
Am I up to it?

The light is fading.
The door is closing.
What is the price of not going?

Safety? Comfort?
Fear of what might have been?
Nothing is ever free.

The door snaps
as I slip through
the remaining crack.
