Distant Love

I hope you know how much I care,
how much I wish I was there.
Though these long miles keep us apart,
I hold you close to me in my heart.
I often think of what I'd do,
If I had just one day to spend with you.
What would we do? What would we say?
How would we share that special day?
Would we walk along the beach hand in hand,
under our feet the warm,soft sand?
Would we stare up at the stars all night?
Or would you just hold me tight?
For now the nights are cold and the days seem long,
but soon I'll be in your arms,
