The iris and the daisy have gone astray
Each plucked away on their own day
Never allowed to fully bloom
Now only shadows cast by the pale moon.
The lilies in the garden will only know
The whispers of the ivies that grow
Along the trellis to and fro
Poisoned sounds that weave a heavy low.
Lilies in the garden swept away from home
Transplanted among thorny roses and garden gnome.
Taken from the garden love
Nurtured only from far above
Tears and rain one in the same
Unforgiving echoes of a lonely pain?
Lilies alone in the garden and just might be forever
The iris in heaven grieves a sorrowed endeavor
The daisy on a mountaintop is so far away
Maybe the lilies will make it home…some day.
