Just a poem
Cold air rushed in from underneath the door
It brought her to my side
I have felt her presence many times before
Yet I have long lacked the courage to confide

The atmosphere seemed scaringly still that night
Darkness came with the slightest invite
No notion stirred these thoughts to wake
From slumber, this mind, not to break

As cold as death her touch was, too
Yet warmer I have never felt
In her hands my face she held
With a single kiss; my fears dispelled

“Drink from this” the demoness said

My fingers firmly grasping that cup of demise
From it I drank the sweetest lies
…and as insolent as only I could be
Drunk became I on insanity

“I count you now amongst the dead”

Though light this heart and free from pain
Hurt and sadness I know no more
Sorrow and remorse no longer reign
Bitterness stirs not in my core

Although all these things I’m blind to see
No longer, too, is there beauty
Forever more, eternally
Numbness was her gift to me
