When I had no one else to spill my feelings on
You were always willing to hear me out.
When no one else wanted to be near or around
You were there without a doubt.
When no one else could console me
You could heal all of my pain.
When I just felt like going mad
You were what kept me sane.
When I thought everyone else had gone
You sent me a single, true friend.
When I thought, “What’s the point in living?”
You showed that my heart could mend.
When I trusted someone and they hurt me
You taught me that I should forgive.
When I began to wish that I was dead
You truly showed me how to live.
When I was beat down as a child
You said that my vengeance was Yours.
When I trusted you and let it go
You opened a million new doors.
When I hurt myself to feel better
You said that it wasn’t right.
When I was dealing with it all at once
You said to pray about it every night.
You see I have a lot of problems with trust
But it’s just not that way with You.
Because whenever something bad happens
I know exactly who I should come to.
I pray about it and think it over
Then I forgive and let it go.
And since it’s passed into Your hands
I’m comforted and that’s all I need to know.
There’s so much more that I feel inside
I’m unable to convert it into my writing.
But the fact that I know you understand
That’s what makes life so exciting.
You see I don’t need to explain anything
About whose name I can always call.
For three little letters mean everything
