Family is a reason for living.
The young couple full of disappointment stood on the lonely front walk to the house they were forced to depart with. The man was a young enthusiastic gentleman till the factory he worked at shut down. He was devastated when he told his pregnant wife that they were going broke at a fizzling rate. He explained through tears that they would lose their home.

The two loved the house they had bought together not two years ago. The Victorian style frame caught their eye as they rode by. They immediately began renovations to make it personal. They made plans and arrangements to cherish their baby girl, Sophie, in this house. They dreamed of her riding her bike down the street while they grilled in the yard. Everything seemed great and was going to plan till the factory sent out their condolences about the recent change in ownership. The new owner decided the factory was no longer a necessity. He wanted a football stadium instead.

The couple turned and took their last glance at the now lonely, decrepit house. It brought tears to their eyes to see such a glorious dream flattened like an unplugged balloon. The couple had to stay at their parents because of the huge tragedy. Their parents were welcome and sympathetic.

While living there the recent father found a good job. He had an office and nametag. He thought life was turning around but he got the phone call that changed everything again.

His wife’s parents were in a terrible accident and were in critical condition. He rushed to them, in ICU. The family all sat there till they slowly drifted away. Before he passed the grandfather spoke a few short words. In a low raspy voice he sputtered, ”I paid for it.” The couple didn’t understand but the next day the bank called and said that the payment went through. They could move back into the Victorian home as soon as the next day.
