Interview your protagonist--how changed and how are you now? |
"This is Fyn Dorian of WMSP TV interviewing Mrs. Samantha Marston, better known as the best selling author, Adele Forsyth. I understand your life has taken some eventful changes of late and I was wondering if you would share some of them with us? "I'd be very happy to do that, although the full story will be told in my next book, 'The Dust Jacket' coming out this spring. Forty years ago in Paris, I fell in love with a marvelous man who is now my husband, my darling Christophe. Due to a series of unfortunate happenstances, I lost a jacket that I always took everywhere with me, lost my pocketbook and between the two, lost Christophe's address. He had his wallet picked on his way to the airport and suddenly, we were an ocean apart from each other with no way to get in contact with each other. "We each searched for our other half to no avail. I married, had a child and eventually divorced. Years passed. My lost jacket had been found and brought home to a teenager who then wore it for years. She, then living on the streets, sold it to a consignment shop in exchange for food money. The wife of the owner recognized it from the dust jacket of one of my novels. In the process of selling off some family antiques to pay for his wife's surgery, he decided to include my jacket in with the auction offerings. "Christophe, who was in the antiques business and my granddaughter, Tina, each stumbled across the jacket in an auction catalog and headed to the auction in London. She to hopefully retrieve the jacket she'd heard about all her life and Christophe to gain a remembrance of me. He won the auction, but then Tina approached him and they shared their stories. They came back to Colorado together to surprise me with both my jacket and my darling." "It is, then, THE jacket?" "Yes it is, somewhat the worse for wear, but it is my most precious possession." "So how has your life changed since all of these events transpired?" "Well, Christophe and I were married a month ago, and we are behaving pretty much as any newly weds might. It took us forty years to be reunited and we haven't been apart since. Now, of course, there is the internet and cell phones, so it is much different than it once was. We plan to fly to Paris next week, and I am busy writing our love story. There is still much the general public doesn't know, so you'll have to be sure to read the book when it comes out!" "To be sure. I hear there are also tentative movie offers in the works as well?" "Yes. And I haven't even finished the book yet!" "Any idea who will play the two of you? Any particular people you'd like to see play your parts?" "We joke about it. I think Christophe should be played by Keanu Reeves and Christophe thinks Sandra Bullock should play me. We think they share the same magic together as we do. Time will tell!" "Thank you for your time and your amazing story! I know our watchers will be excited when your book comes out in the Spring of 2012. This is Fyn Dorian, from WMSP in Manitau Springs, Colorado. Jake, back to you." |
