Write a short story or poem about a meeting at a coffee shop between two people who've never met in person.
I know well the cream swirling into the blackness
like a looming whirlpool
round and round in my floral cup
but I've never seen blue eyes like yours
Your stature is looming, your lips make me purse my own
The round tables and metallic chairs fall away
with the monotonous jazz above my head
and all I wish to see is your indigo eyes
I see you everyday and yet I've never met you
There is a moment when I'm sure you know me too
Like a rare painting you are an oddity to my memory
but then you speak
and it's as if a tiny thousand voices speak for you
revealing what lurks behind the careful strokes of the blueish paint
I want only to study those flecks
and as a stream of your voice lulls me forward
I realize I've known you all along
