Lonesome Gods

Oh you ancient gods
where have you gone
remembered only in myth and lore
who will worship you now
who will remember your name's

Oh the mists of time
have hidden your people
they that sacrificed and groveled
have vanished forever
leaving only traces of you behind

with whom can you play
your terrible games
trials and tests imposed
on those who's lives and fate but toys
they are long gone with passage of time

did living grow dull and dreary
did life loose it's taste and splendor
for you to seek the joy's of life
through the lives of mortal man
they are lost forever, you lonesome gods
