''But babes.....!'', he started.

''Don't you DARE call me babes!'', I screamed. I hated when he called me 'babes'. It was one of my pet hates. And he knew it.

''But, babes, I don't understand.....!?'', he started again. I zoned out. My mind was elsewhere. I tried to forget the fact that he called me 'babes', again. I showed I was strong. Stronger, at least, than he was. Little did he know I was breaking inside, and it was about to show.....



''You guys only want ONE thing, and you'll go to any lengths to get it!''

''I'm sorry, babes, but I don't follow you.....?''

''DON'T CALL ME BABES!'', I stormed out. My friendsm, Natalie and Mindy, stayed outside, awkwardly shifting their weights from one foot to the other. They heard me. But they understood, so I didn't bother apologizing. They didn't know why I was angry - no, furious - with Darren, but they I'd have a good enough reason. I never got angry for no reason.



''So, did you get the Maths homework?'', Natalie asked me. Good job Natalie, I thought. She knew me well enough. If she asked me ''Are you ok?'', she knew I'd flip, and probably flip some tables or something.

''Mmmm.....'', I said, half-listening.
