This poem is about lies and the bad they bring.
A lie is like an injury,

Painful, yet real,

Throbbing with the hurt that always comes with it.

I peel away the lie,

Wash it down the drain,

Reach for the bandages, waiting for the feel.

Cover up the hurt,

From prying eyes,

For what they see on the outside is what they want to see anyway.

After it "heals",

I take the cover away,

Alone,

By myself.

Where no on can see,

The scar in the trust it leaves behind.

I cover it back up.
