A page out of the personal journal of a poet.
I can’t decide if I like green

or red

or if I want to go with black

Black is too conventional- you might get bored… I’m bored with it already too.

Red reminds me of grade school and the teachers love of red to grade my spelling tests. My dad would always make the comment “look’s like your paper bleed to death” ‘cuz I could never spell. lol…… I wonder why teachers use red? Maybe it’s like “STOP, you’re wrong”… or maybe it was the only color left in the red/black/blue sharpie set…. but- maybe the NEED for a red pen came before the 3-pack of colors. (Which came first? the Chicken’s supply or the Egg’s demand?)… I bet it was some dick teacher, probably a college professor, who first started using red to grade. Maybe he had a student in his class he despised and felt red was the best color to emphasize “you suck”….. but who knows.

I like green.
It reminds me of outside.
For some reason in my mind “outside” is me standing in my garage, just before being fully outside- but outside enough to feel and anticipate what I’m seeing. My memory, or mental picture I guess, always has a golden tent reflecting off the different surfaces- a nice gold shine around my brother’s grey car, the sun rays like a golden fog illuminate every sleek curve in a background of an early morning in late summer or early fall. I guess early is totally relative- but I would say it’s around 11 am, or basically my first glimpse of the day on a day where all I’m responsible for is gazing. The sun makes the trees in my neighbors back yard look as if they are wearing an angle’s halo. They are some odd people living there; overly protective like a liberal, but stubborn like a republican…. Annoying combination
Anyways I need to do a call around and stick to my intuition- Effortless Effort- just do what you need to do, and don’t base decisions on immediate pleasure but the happiness you feel from doing things well.
later,

Mike
