People tend to throw the term love, when the connection is nothing more than a feeling to them. When they get hurt, or lost, they wonder how someone could be so cruel. The first lesson to this, is that love is exactly what it is; a word. What matters is the connection the word implies between two people and/or a person and an object, or animal. This connection is what people throw around when they use the term love.

To those people that throw the word around so loosely, all it really means to them, is a feeling, and such feeling are temporary; they simply come and go. This is why most people who are older, tend to say it's just a crush; and the reason it's called a crush, is because someone always gets hurt in the end.

True love as some would know it, be it elderly married folks, or a parent, understand that true love boils down to a Biblical concept; rather if they believe in the Bible or not. True love means loving the other person rather if they deserve it or not; it's a choice. It's choosing to love them when they hurt you, choosing to love them when they don't deserve it, and it's choosing to love them no matter what.

Take marriage as a prime example, "for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health...." These vows are a choice that one takes when deciding to enter into that binding Godly contract. Another look at it is what The Bible says in Corinthians. "Love keeps no record of wrongs, love does not envy, it does not boast, love is slow to anger, love always protects, always trusts, always perseveres, love never fails (the order may be a little off, but you get the general point)...."
