Poem that goes with my painting, Broken Molds
Shattered pieces of
a reality
never to be owned
rest at my feet,
waiting for someone
to pick them up,
piece them together,
rescue them from fantasy.

Pieces of memories,
markers of time,
shaken from a mind
too full of mistakes
to know the truth,
too confused to tell a lie.

A mosaic for an artist
to place upon a wall
cascading
into a history
unknown, unwanted, unclaimed.

Facing
the place where
today
surfaces and finds
tomorrow
hovering patiently behind
yesterday--
a place where I belong--
Pushing my broken yesteryears before me.
