First Contact

Blue against the darkness of space,
Clouds decorating like white lace,
It beckons to a homeless race.
A ship descends at night,
Searching for their first landing place,
A valley green and bright,

Without native inhabitance,
Where they could make their residence,
A home to leave their decadences.
Cro-Magnon watched them land,
And begged their divine assistance:
This encounter unplanned.
