An Odd Ode to St. Patrick

It's kind of 'kilt' me every time,
whatever I read
Each ode to you on WDC
Long after you've been dead.

Elves and imps and faeries
And leprechauns and ghouls
Not forgetting the 'hairies'
And banshees after souls.

Afore you write me off
As green up to the gills
I thought it was in Scotland
That kilts did fill the bills.

St. Patrick, you had all it takes
To clear the land of sin
Kick the butt of all the snakes
And baptise 'em with gin.

All right. That was risky. Make that a double whiskey!
