The Chosen Path

Paths throughout life may appear unrelenting
Even painful and cruel
Pointing us in the wrong direction at times
Often, this is the road we choose.

Ignorant of the trouble which lies ahead
Ignorant of the pain
Ignorant of the fear
Not knowing how to escape, we persevere.

We fall upon unforeseen obstacles
Which soon will become regrets
Turning back no longer an option
This path we have chosen must be completed till the end.

Foreseeing our final steps ahead
Having conquered our demons within
Our qualities still remain intact                                                                          Now where to begin?

To redeem ourself is our strongest tool
When we are faced yet again
Of which path to choose.
