MY HEART SMILES
Laying in my bed
When you are not here
I push your shirt against my face
Hold my pillow tight and near
And just for a moment
I believe I'm holding you
My heart smiles
I whisper that I love you
It is in the silence that I know
You are a few blocks away
Not here in my arms
But those three words I whispered softly
Those words they speak the truth
I can't deny my feelings
When I whisper them
To an invisible you
So know when you read this
My feelings are sincere
I can't wait to see you
When the night draws near


SAD AND CRYING
When I am sad and crying
Because we said goodnight
I’ll never let you know I’m crying
I will just avoid speaking the rest of tonight
I sit in my room
Babygail within my hands
She understands my feelings
And letting her know isn’t bad
But I’ll never let you know I’m crying
Or that I am feeling sad
I wouldn’t want to worry you
Or guilt you
Or make you feel bad
And as I sit here
Sad and crying
I wonder why it is
I am not unhappy
My life today is grand!
And our goodnight is just for tonight
I will see you again soon
So these tears are silly
And I am thinking I should stop
But holding back is unhealthy
So on they’ll flow tonight
Until we see each other again

Listening to music
In your truck
The volume turned up
Loud as it can go
I smile as we sing
And when the music down real low
And we are driving in your truck
All the things we talk about
I’m so happy
I can’t help but laugh
When we are at my house
Watching TV
Sitting on the couch
My brother and sister waltz in
And you are so kind
Not because they are my siblings
But because you love children
As much as me
And when at night we cuddle on the bed
As we watch a movie
I love the way you smell
Your cologne is nice
But even without it
I love the smell of you
As we fall asleep
Your arms around me
Protecting me from the world
I sleep knowing
You will always be here for me
And there are so many other things
When you are sick
And I do not get to see you
I miss so many things
I cannot name them all
I miss you
I hope you soon feel better
Know there is a place in my heart
That was made just for you
