In my travels I have been looking |
In my marvelous travels of crossroads of hope, Of Rocky Mountains and steep slopes, I met a fair nymph along my way, She said she will sing for me day to day. Years have passed we both sang in glee, But then tunes have stopped, we lost harmony. I swam the vast ocean and endless sea, In the shore where the sea gulls fly free, I met the fair maiden of the sea, But since I have no gills and fins Her coldness and doubts soon begin. She said farewell with a wicked grin. I walked along the thorny forest, I sat at an old oak’s roots and took my rest, There I met the fierce lioness. I was hooked by her passion and tender caress, But then she became angry and obsess, I run free from her distress. In the dark cave of rats and bats, I met a vampire with a cat. I was hypnotized by her charm, And she promised she mean no harm We lived in the cave, as one, as whole Then all of a sudden she wants to take my soul. As my body grow tired and consumed I sat by the river and hum a tune, Counting my failures and misfortune. A wise man, old and gray, Sat and greet me a pleasant day And said it will soon come my way. The wise man asked what my quest is for I said for a maiden I can love and adore, I travel far and explore, For a lady that can believe that love conquers all, Whom I can love, winter, summer or fall, Who can love me despite of prison wall. I am the Romeo in this tragedy, Wishing I will be spare of this agony I will linger even ‘til eternity For my true love to find me, I shall wait in peace and quiet, In search for my Juliet. |
