Snowflakes

Soft, fluffy, cold, and wet
winter is when it falls
on a cloudy day
below freezing
many falls and
cover the ground.

Sticking my head up
waiting for the first to fall
then try catching my tongue
to feel its cool wetness in my mouth.

The next day snow blanket the ground
I go out in my heavy coat and mittens
then roll large balls, one larger than the other,
to make a snowman in my backyard.
