Yes. When the first televised Superman series was broadcast. Children were trying to fly like Superman. There were a larger number of injuries and fatalities. The actor, who played Superman, made a special broadcast ~ "Only Superman can fly." That is false. In truth Superman cannot fly. Superman is a fictional character. There is no real Superman from Krypton, who can fly and is impervious to bullets. But, the writers of the Superman series didn't feel obligated to make that clear to the children viewers. The injuries continued, because children wanted Superman to catch them. There is a similarity between this Superman mania and religious belief. No matter what evidence is presented the fanatic will still believe. What if Jesus was just a man? Would his teachings be any less important? The children were easily deceived by the Superman series. They wanted to believe Superman could fly. Religion is a fantasy for adults. "I don't know how to prove it, but I believe anyway." "If you can't explain it, then why not believe in God?" These questions are like jumping off a roof and hoping Superman will catch you. Have you seen the AVENGERS movie? Do you believe in Thor? Why not? Thor is an ancient Nordic God with a lot of religion behind him. Let's have an orgy to the celebrate the Viking Gods! There will be ale and plenty of pork! Just venting..... burp! Muzzy |
