Love thy self
Nothing else
Believe in who
And what you are
Put yourself first
Respect yourself
Then if you wish everyone else
Choices are always abound
Decisions must be made
Living with them is a crucial
Part of the game
Always be sure to know
Where it is you have been
Care where you are going
Know the chosen path
Understand the obstacles
And how to defeat them
Have a reasonable plan
Leave nothing to chance
Don’t be foolish with your life
Take each tedious breath
Hold it close for as long as you can
Feel your precious heart
Through your thin skin
Know the rhythm
Of its triumph over death
Love thy self
Work on mastering your own being
Understand each nook and cranny
Be comfortable with what
Makes you wonderful
Be confident about what
Makes you terrible
Find an even keel
A balance you can deal with
Don’t expect perfection
Such a thing does not exist
And if it did
I can assure you that
None of us would fit
Love thy self
And you will find
That it becomes easier in time
To love everything else
God gave all of us a gift
But such a gift comes
With no set rules or instructions
The process of figuring it all out
Is the process of truly living
Once you think you have the answers
You will find only more questions
Once you are sure you are happy
Something quite sad will happen
As a way to let you know
That such a thing as happiness
Just like life in any form
Does not exist in infinite amounts
Death is the only true constant
The only part of who we are
That is not bound by variables
Leave fate upon the shelf
Where it belongs
Appreciation for living will come
Once you love thy self
Understanding will be yours
It might take you all of your days
To get to the point to which I speak
Then again, it might not…
