Is Prayer Dangerous?

      I like old movies.
      Why do I obsess about the past?
      I suppose I'm not that thrilled with the present.
      Ask yourself are you happy with the way things are?

      Dad never hit me.                                      He just didn't get angry.

      When I watch an old classic like Death Race 2000
      I remember how much fun the movies were.
      For one thing there are plenty of bare breasted women.
      What's wrong with that?
      It's okay to shoot people on screen, but naked breasts are X-rated.
      Cut me some slack jack!

      I always wanted to meet David Carradine and Elvis.
      I think they met.    Dad told me that Kung Fu the series was for
      dirty hippies.      Dad wanted to name me Richard after Richard Nixon.
      Mom nixed that.. Thank God!

                            Mom said that King Richard was like Hitler in France.
                            But, she fervently believed in the Arthurian Legend.
                            That the blood line of Jesus Christ flowed through
                            King Arthur's descendents ..
                            The Holy Grail. King Arthur's knights searched France
                            for Jesus' daughter; to replace the adulterous Gwenevere.
                            Persevere returned with Arthur's bride.
                            Her name was Sarah.

      Mom told me never to pray to God.
      "Pray to His mother, she will understand." she said with a Mona Lisa smile.
      As the legend goes in France, God punishes those who question His Divine
      Providence. Everything is going according to God's plan; so why are you praying?
      Typical French fatalism.

      I really wanted to connect with dad, but he didn't have much to say to me.
      I was in fear for my life in high school. The bullies had guns and gangs.
      Dad was born in 1910~simpler times.

                          "A man must stand up for himself or be a coward."
                          That was dad's advice.

        I chose to hide and run from the gun toting bullies, like a coward.
        But, I saw it as survival.                        Spooky palindrome~

                I gave my mom a picture of the bully, who said he was going
                to shoot me. She spit on it and burned it.
                The bully was killed in a car accident a few days later.
                His buddy was driving and there were two girls in the back seat.
                But he was the only one killed.

        Mom had a big smile on that day.
        I will attempt an evocation, like my momma done taught me~

                              for all to see.


        I like white magic.
        Mom said: "Demons don't like to be told what to do.
                        That's why they're called demons."
        When you use magic to curse you call upon demons and those
        buggers can be tricky. .. Perhaps, there are forces at work
        in the world that no one can control, because that would be against God's plan.

        But, that doesn't mean we have to like it.
        Oops! That's demonic.
