I have recently been trying to get back into poetry, here is a first attempt which i knocked up at work in some spare time so it's not been drafted or polished or anything; i'm afraid i don't have enough Gift Points to be able to offer any thanks in that form this time round, but all constructive criticism or advice would be very much appreciated, and i'll make sure i keep and eye open and review your own work :)
As the sun sets low beneath the tide
In its haze of red and gold
And creeping darkness
I count
The
Footsteps
Of
Strangers
Imprinted in the sands
Waiting, just...waiting,
For the tide to wash them clean
And wipe them from
Existence
Many times i wish
That i was the sand,
You were those footsteps
And time was the cold and endless waters
That would wash me clean
And let me forget
Each moment
Imprinted
On
My
Heart
