The Ark

THE ARK

On Monday it rained
The tears of the Gods!
The South coast was flooded,
The earth was in clods.

On Tuesday I thought
It would never stop raining –
The damp and the wind
Were terribly draining!

On Wednesday I cried –
I’ll have to admit –
My furniture floated,
My house was a pit!

On Thursday I gathered
My family and friends
I forged out a plan –
A means to an end.

On Friday I told them
The story of Noah
The animals – elephant,
Rat, Cat and Boa.

On Saturday morning
We built us an ark,
Herded up animals
All day until dark.

On Sunday we sailed
With God at our side –
