a descriptive text that can be interpreted as you choose
The ground passed by as if it flew on the wind, a blur among many different colours, joining together to make one. The noise of laughter drifted on the wind accompanied with the smell of something exotic. The world was a daze and nothing seemed as it should as shapes that resembled people walked forward. They were pushing and shoving among the crowd and each holding a different world tied to a string. So many people, so many worlds, each a different colour, red and blue and yellow. A scream could be heard from far away people began to run forward letting their worlds go and each floated into the sky adding to the many colours of the world. The colours joined and darkness came over the world.

Was it over? Is this were the world ended? Was there nothing more than darkness left? The darkness was so thick and nothing felt real any more. A loud high-pitched sound could be heard from a long way off, a constant sound that could have broken glass. The sound wouldn’t stop, it continued to ring and no end could be imagined. Then through the darkness other noises began to appear, the sound of sorrow and grief then suddenly a light pierced the darkness. A light so bright that it chased away all signs of darkness, a light so bright that you could have seen it from the other side of space. The colours of the world began to reappear like stars in the night sky. Slowly at first but then they began to increase in speed and size as if each was in its on personal race to be the biggest and fastest of them all. Still the constant ear piercing sound was there, why would it not go away? Suddenly the noise stopped and was replaced by the sound of a chime that was as constant as a heartbeat. The sound of laughter and joy re-entered the world but where was the sound coming from and why did it seem so far away? A longing to be among the people that seemed so happy and joyful appeared but the world was like an ocean of pain during a storm, pushing and pulling many different ways not knowing which way was up.

The storm seemed to last many days constant pain pulling and pushing from one way to the other as if it could not make up its mind. Then every now and then the ear piercing noise would appear and with it the darkness would follow. Each time the darkness lasted a bit longer and each time it seemed as if someone was calling from the darkness offering comfort from the storm that was waiting on the other side. It seemed all too easy to walk into darkness but still each time the storm re-appeared and the constant pushing pulling of the tide continued.

How is it that such a longing to walk into an unknown darkness can be felt? Yet another longing be so great as to wish to stay among the pain of what feels like death? Two great longings in one person must be disastrous. Too want two things is greedy but still these longings were there as the struggle between darkness and pain continued until suddenly the sea stopped for good. No longer was it pushing and pulling and no longer was there a pain that could drive someone to despair only the ache of loneliness remained. Where was the laughter and joy that was a constant among the darkest days? Where was the sound of crying that could be heard when the darkness appeared? Not a sound could be heard, not even the sound of a chime that was as constant as a heartbeat.

Again a light so bright that it chased away all signs of darkness appeared, a light so bright that you could have seen it from the other side of space. The colours of the world began to reappear like stars in the night sky. Slowly at first but then they began to increase in speed and size as if each was in its on personal race to be the biggest and fastest of them all. Until the colours joined together to form shapes that were standing in a white square room. Nothing adorned the walls and the smells of flowers were ever present. All seemed normal, as if the ocean of pain had never been, as if the darkness had never been there and as if sadness had never been a possibility. The greatest joy ever known to man entered that room and it seemed as if nothing had ever gone wrong.
What had gone wrong?
