A journey through addiction.
The union of poison and ash,

The burning blow of shame..

The slow trickle and the sudden flash,

"Dependancy" is my name..

Rocking the boat gently at first,

Whistling a little tune..

Calmly passing on a wicked curse

Of the flame and the cooking spoon..

Biting into what is known of pain,

And the howling in the cold..

Razor blades to the thin membrane

And a sleep of the uncontrolled..

Slicing into the fluid space,

The heart, the spine, the mind..

Such a strange welcome to such disgrace

Into the cradle of the blind..

Mother and father, brother and foe

All are one, and one is none..

What is left is the final blow

The hole in the pipe or the hole in the gun..

Lovers and demons hand in hand,

A callous plot for sure!

Destiny waves a magic wand

And the end is the only cure..

Drool and froth, now finally come

And the last sight is so plain..

"Welcome home, O prodigal son,

Addiction is my name.."
