The Fly who Never Gave Up

A little fly is flying around, merrily as he can
Believing there is no obstacle that can stop him
He is caught into the web of a spider

So many flies have come before
Clashing with the same web as him
They have never attempted to escape the web
Due to the failure of all those who have tried
This fly, however, will not accept defeat
Believing there is no obstacle that can stop him

He begins to struggle to escape the web
And spends minutes on his first attempt
Although he uses up all his energy
The fly will not give up, not just yet
He rests for a bit, and tries again
He tries harder this time, but does not succeed


He does not feel his efforts are worth it
And he feels he has been beaten
He does not want to continue suffering
So now he waits to be waiting to be eaten

He lies there, hopelessly
Knowing he cannot escape
But he figures one last attempt cannot hurt
So he prepares himself to leave the web
With one final push for freedom
He finally manages to escape

This little fly managed to do
What many others failed
The others gave up before they tried
While this little one succeeded because he tried
