The pain is unmistaken but the pain is also healing.

Never forget the people, who were here,

Each one of them leaves a mark in our lives.

Like a footprint, like birth, a newfound life.

As I open my eyes to the world today,

Everything has changed its way.

Starvation is a weapon.

Hunger is a curse.

Praying is the only hope.

Shh…listen closely to the children,

They’re crying for help.

Even though the world is so captivating,

Everything takes a little understanding.

Pain can hurt us, heal us, and connect us,

The feelings as someone says what no one else could,

The words that should be left unsaid and no one would.
