The First Deadly Sin

What light shall bring peace to this blight?
Will it be the might of Soldiers not in sight.
The night is a harsh place for such a fight

What must destroy such powerful lust
When even its rust can become like dust?
Nothing so unjust could we so deeply trust.

Images will sear this brain of fear
They will reappear both far and near
Sometime, some year, this fog will clear

But they are retreating to their first creating
With the fleeting visions, comes great begetting
A new captivating life, full of new entrusting.

Much guilt could ingrain in this overactive brain
But such distain shall not maintain
Even in the rain, my faith will remain
