Wanted to let you know that I'll be picking up dinner tonight so don't start cooking.” Beep. “Me again. Listen, my car broke down on the freeway so I'm going to be home late. I called AAA and they've got someone coming. I did pick up dinner though so at least I've got something to eat right?” Beep. “Hey. Okay, this is weird. The tow truck hasn't showed up yet but there's this car that keeps passing by and slowing down. I swear it's the same car everytime. I can't even see the driver but they slow way down when they are passing me and then make a u-turn and drive around again. Idiot must be trying to decide whether to help me.” Beep. “I called the police. This is getting weird. The tow truck isn't here, that creepy car keeps passing and there aren't any others cars passing me on the freeway now. Unusual for a Friday evening, right? Oh holy shit. That creepy car just pulled up behind me. He's just sitting there idling the engine behind me.” Beep. “Honey, please pick up. That car keeps pulling behind me and now he's revving the engine and then driving off again. I haven't seen any other cars in an hour. I called AAA and the police again. I just really need to hear your voice. Please pick up. Please.” Beep. “Honey, I really need you. Please come get me. Please, please. That car guy is still driving around. I'm too scared to get out of the car and my phone is almost dead. Nobody is picking up anymore at AAA or 911. I need you to come get me. Hurry.” Beep. “The car is behind me again. He's not revving the engine anymore and it's getting dark. Honey, it's been nearly three hours of this. Why aren't you picking up? I need you here now. Oh holy fuck. The door of the car just opened. Oh shit oh shit. The guy is stepping outsi- fuck! What the fuck is that!? There's something wrong with his eyes! Please come get me! Please! Please! Please! No! Get away from me! Get away!” Beep. “Hey honey. Just calling to say I'm fine. I know I freaked out but trust me. I'm fine. I'll be home very shortly to see you and the kids. See you soon.” |
