False Truths of Gods and Humanity

Gripping drumming sings laterally, repetitively -
thum-thump-thum-thum.
I lie in the center of a
bonfire lit sacred circle.
The heat of the fire awakening
my body,
the passion of the drums
shaking the foundations of the Earth.
Lucidity takes me and I fly
away into dark night,
through stars and time,
to the ancestral past
of ancient Sumerian gods.

Enlil and Enkei – God and Satan.
Genesis recounted and stolen,
given to Adam and Eve,
a lie – stolen myths. They were
common people shaken to their souls
cast into work camps by power-mongrels
licking lips of greedy, starving faces
morally bereft – ragged and homeless
suturing the edifices of society -
crusts peeled back, chipped and scarred
scorched by illusions of lavishness and decadence.

I leap through time.
I witness a Sumerian,
Ziusudra, building the boat
preceeding the global flood.
Another theft given to Adam’s blood
forever flowing down
red as my anger at the lies
preached as truths of
a loving god.
Intolerance, genocide, and
deaths by stones and swords
reveal yet more lies.
Cracked carapaces sewn together
with threads of sinew
making dexterous exercises
paramount for survival -
quickest martial expertise.
Justice, preserved lies, touted as truth.

Enlil fathers Marduk who
is Zeus to the Greeks,
thus another pantheon is born
mirrored by Romans, Norsemen, Hindi, and Celts -
the same gods, but different names.
In the land of Canaan,
resettled from Ur in Sumer,
Abraham fathers Isaac and Ishmael,
thus Judaism and Islam is born.

The Romans, Norsemen, Hindi, and Celts
flourish and prosperity reigns.
Goddesses and Gods abound, yet
wars still ravage mankind;
Greeks and Trojans,
Normans and Picts,
Celts and Angles.
The people become slaves
to havoc-ravaging maniacs
selling swords of rage and pestilence
that medicines cannot heal.
Fear-gripped masses are
huddling in soaking ambiance,
water-logged and freezing
in Winter-frozen heaps,
frothed and symbolized
by drowning bodies
cavorting amongst the gravestones
of wayward heroes
gyrating in death-throes
and chuckling
at the ironic facets
of lives not lived,
wasted energy spent
on frivolous meandering
amongst patriots and rampant regimes
ceaselessly changing,
but remaining stagnant and hopeless.
Souls re-emerge new, fresh,
brighter than before
threading rapture and torture,
to live longer,
forever studying re-emergence.


I fly further towards the present.
I see Christianity emerge from Judaism
as Jesus reveals hope and salvation
out of repression and tyranny.
But Christianity breeds intolerance
and intolerance gives in to crusades -
bloody and sweeping -
like a locust cloud blowing
across the face of the planet.
Pagan Gods replaced by saints,
sabbats co-opted by holy days,
rites and rituals hereticized,
and people burned and slaughtered
in the name of a God proclaiming
“I am Love…the Light and the Way.”
Tyrants’ wrath sever
legality from justice.
Innocence is lost to dogs
warring for scraps of refuse
as if they were gold.
Charlatans choking on hopes and dreams
lost beyond regaining:
Valhalla – Nirvana – Heaven,
lost and inaccessible.
Illusions of truths
pondered but dismissed
by errant minstrels
singing praises to heroes
undeserving of adulation.
False spirits haunting,
seeking to prove that
charlatans are truths
mislabeled as gods
worshipped as devils.

I slip back into the present
and open my eyes.
The experiences of my vision-quest
are fresh in my mind.
I see now the fallacy
that organized religion
embodies.

Religion
is not truth.

Truth is not dogma.

Truth is spirituality.
Spirituality is Sacred Geometry.
Mathematics and geometrical progression,
quantifiable – measureable,
as scientific understanding
of creation -
elemental and organic -
a symbiosis of energies
connecting
everything to everything:
environment,
consciousness,
enlightenment,
divinity…
