8. Yancy opened his eyes. Majag felt the bed move under his folded arms and head. He did not know how long he had been asleep this time. Majag was surprised to see Yancy pulling at the bandages that covered his eyes.

11.  Yancy was a little frightened to be released from the hospital. He did not know how the Cherokee tribe would receive him. With his deep nearly healed burns, would they see him as a devil?

17. Many of his nights were spent in fortune. Sleep was not his friend. When he closed his eyes to sleep, he knew that it was going to be another night of being in the fire as a child. He always smelled the smoke, felt the heat, and worst of all he could hear his family plea screaming in pain. In forty two years, Yancy had not slept without reliving the night that his parents and sister died in the fire.



18.  Yancy's brother writes him telling him who started the fire.



19.  He finds the two men. One is dead, and the other is as a child in a nursing home. Yancy lets go of the bitter hate that he had carried all those years. He forgave.



20.  Yancy's brother is by his bed as Yancy dies. From TB.

Yancy was tired and wanted to go to sleep. “I love you too, brother.”  Then he looks ahead. “Mother is coming.” He reaches out his other hand.



         “Yancy, go to her.” Biziil said with tears flowing in sheets down his eyes now. “She has waited far too long for you.”



         With those words, Yancy took one more deep gargling breath. His eyes widened and he fell into the eternal rest.

8. Appearance: Five feet six inches tall, 200 pounds, dark brown eyes, black wavy hair



9. Likes: Fishing, hunting, Indian crafts, country and Indian music, sun rises, four wheeling.

11. Physical condition: buff, strong, has a burn scar hidden under his shirt and paints on the right side from escaping from the fire ambush that killed his parents

Prose Synopsis



        Yancy was ten when he was awaken from a deep sleep by a heavy smoke. He tried to run to his baby sister's room, but the hall was filled with flames. He was grabbed by a fireman and carried out of the burning building.



        That day he lost his entire family. His parents and sister were burned to death, and his brother was sent to foster care. Yancy would follow the path to become a cop, serif, and then a pro filer. He was determined to use his position to solve his child hood mysteries.





        It is not until nearly the end of Yancy's career that he learns that the men who killed his family can not be held accountable for their deaths. One is in a asylum and the other was in the ground near by.



        His brother finds Yancy, he sits with Yancy as he dies with TB.
