A loss of a loved one
You’re out of time.. These were the words that crushed my soul like a transfer truck ran over me when they came out of her mouth. I had never gone through anything like this before. I did not know what it was like to have my heart ripped out of my chest by four little words. I was going to come by before church Wednesday and say my goodbyes and I love you for the last time but I never got the chance. God had better plans for you that night and knew it would make everything better. Now you are up in Heaven rejoicing with your mom and dad that you missed so much, and we are down here reminiscing over every memory that we shared. I remember always helping you shell the snaps on the front porch of your little yellow house listening to the chickens in your barn cluck away. You would always take me down to the barn to help you pick up eggs from the chickens and I thought it was so cool. While we were making these memories I never imagined how much the smallest of things would mean so much to me once you were gone. Now as I sit here and think of the great memories we made I cant help but get sad at the thought my children will not know such a great man as you. It hurts my heart to know that those last few weeks you spent of your life you were not enjoying instead you were suffering. I know it was your time to go and I’m glad you are not hurting anymore. Those four little words changed my life forever but in good and bad ways. It was good to know you were not suffering anymore but sad I would never get to see you again.
