A dark poem about those of us that must fade away before a new days comes true. |
-Fade Into The Night- by Keaton Foster To the darkness of life Upon the consequence Of every single plight Those of us Not meant to be Must fade into the night Into emptiness defied Willingly we must scream Never again to be seen Absent of another dream Our voices no longer To be believed Liars and heretics Intertwined False logics enshrined Inward bound Is all that is acceptable Outward bound Must flow no sound Upon every page Will be written our grave Our bodies turned Into former temples We pray to no god Especially ourselves We must accepts our fate Because such a shared destiny Will no longer wait There is and will be No reasonable escape If we even try to flee If we attempt to fight the bleed Then someone that we love Some other impossible beast Will be sacrificed in our place The guilt alone Would riddle our bones Upon such weight We would fall Deeper still Deeper than intended Further down than ever before Down into the darkest depths A place that even us Have only even been willing to circle Upon such an edge we have stood Upon that same edge we have lived While others run from its sight Into the hands of God’s delight We have always stood quite still Between our own version Of heaven and hell Between giving in And continually speaking out We have said what needs to be said Now we must fade into the night A new day will be sure to come But certainly without us We have never been meant to see A tomorrow that we can believe We must fade into the night We must disappear before the day That all of this will change… Fade Into The Night Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2013 |
