Cardinal Points


From the East,
morning blush seeps
into deep, midnight blue.
Dawn fire claims the sky,
consuming night
with radiant light.

From the North,
the sharp, breath slice
of snow and ice
chills the marrow
of the soul
with acid cold.

From the West.
the watery blast
of summer storms 
turn to snow and sleet.
When cold winds blow
the glass falls low.

From the South,
balmy zephyrs
warm and sooth
dormant nature,
unfreezing all 
winter blues.
