A special poem about finding a way to let go of all of my painful memories and start over. |
-Wash This Memory Clean- by Keaton Foster If I could just sleep Just find some peace If I could breathe Allow my heart to skip Just a few precious beats That would be freeing Revitalizing Awe inspiring If I could just find a way A precious moment of peace My life has always been hell Upon an endless sea of swells Many ups and many downs Every impossible struggle Fighting against the world While waging Unwinnable battles Against myself Will it ever stop I believe that it will I alone must find the way To wash this memory clean Only when I cannot remember Will I ever have a real chance at forgetting All that has brought me to this place To this life of impossible weights Only then will I find some peace And an endless sense of relief I am sure that I deserve as much I have paid more than I should I have bled every damn truth I have hemorrhaged so much pain I am dying on the inside My body, broken down and beat My heart, relentless and unforgiving My mind, ravenous and unhinged Imagination is both my salvation And my absolute damnation Washing this memory clean Might somehow reset the impossible Might somehow stave off the inevitable It is the only real chance that I have It is the one thing I must somehow do… Wash This Memory Clean Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2013 |
