What is Family?




Family is the most sacred of bonds
one that unites the soul as one
the palm print of our past
our present
our future
the vision of ones heart
through the darkness of open eyes.

Family for me is simple
i will give
and i will give
until there is nothing more of me to give
for i do it on hope
that others shall see
what my family means to me

Family to me is a shoulder to lean your heavy heart
an ear places to listen
a helping hand in times of need
a hug on a very bad day
motivational words when you are feeling low
the acknowledgement of a persons life

Family will argue and fight
not always agree
but stand up for one another
no matter the road blocks ahead
thru good times and bad

Over the years i have found
family is not always that of blood
but the best friend that has always believed in you
the one you never give enough credit too
for helping mold you into the man you are
thank you for everything
the headache of a wife you love so much
very much a handful
but you would not want it any other way
the brotherhood built over the years
hard times and good times
there loyalty has never changed
the wisdom from ole school
his experiences that help guide you thru the tough road ahead
these are the memories charished
most take for granted

For i have mad more mistakes than i can count
fallen more times than i would like to admit
made the wrong decisions
when i felt them to be right
have lost a part of myself
in times of deep thought
but i stand tall for my family
never give up on my family
willing to give my last breath for my family

Because that is what family does
we shed tears together
laugh with one another
support and help each other
from this life to the next.
