expressing my feelings
she couldn't feel anymore.
she couldn't hear anymore.
but,
she didn't care at all.
so it didn't matter.

so she lay there,
not breathing,
underneath the roaring waves.
staring up at all the happy people.
and wished she could be
one of them again.

she gasped,
but her lungs filled with
water,
again.

so she closed her eyes,
and remembered.

she had been caught in
the middle.
she couldn't stand it
anymore.

and it was all
for her.
all of the screaming and yelling.
and the words
unspoken
about the other person.

but one person
didn't care.
and the other
cared too much.

she opened her eyes
at the pain,
her heart ached,
but it didn't beat.
it lay,
motionless,
inside her chest.
